The German company’s factory in Debrecen, eastern Hungary, is taking on an increasingly spectacular form, and is scheduled to start production in 2025 with more than 1,500 employees, reports Világgazdaság.
European Parliament Vice President, Katarina Barley, warned German companies this week to be careful with their investments in Hungary, because of the experience of being blackmailed by the Orbán government. She said BMW should move its investment to Romania instead of Hungary.
Although the politician did not say what German companies think about the tax environment, as is usually the case, the Hungarian answer was not left out.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, called the accusations ridiculous, while stressing that BMW is not going to Romania.

The BMW Group Factory in Debrecen is scheduled to start production in 2025, with more than 1,500 employees, when the first model of the purely electric-powered Neue Klasse will roll off the production line and make its debut.
