Kinga Puha started modeling at the age of 14, which gave her an insight into the world of fashion. She has traveled to the U.S., Asia, Africa, and China, and has worked for brands such as Carolina Herrera and Sophie Couture in Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks.
In an interview with parameter.sk, the pageant contestant said that she saw a change in the whole concept of the competition this year. “The emphasis is no longer just on beauty and appearance, but on the inside.
I think the most important thing in today’s world is to get someone into the public eye who has something to say and represent.”
She pointed out that sustainable fashion is becoming increasingly important and that she wants to educate and inspire the next generations.
“I want sustainable fashion to be a basic concept for them. They should be able to think about what they buy, whether they really need it. (…) Overconsumption itself is the biggest problem, as huge amounts of waste are produced. It does matter where we buy the clothes from, as it is very important to support local designers.”
The 72nd Miss Universe pageant will be held in El Salvador later this year.
