The elements of the Cyber Range have arrived to the Faculty of Military Science and National Defense Training of the National University of Public Service – reported Honvedelem.hu
As a result of the cooperation between the US Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) and the Hungarian Defense Forces, the virtual educational environment project has reached its final phase, with the arrival of new information technology equipment at the university. The computer equipment will be assembled and handed over at the end of June, and the training of instructors will begin in the following period. The virtual environment for the toolkit is provided by SimSpace, a solution founded by U.S. Cyber Command and experts at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, a global leader in cyber security training environments.
The digital training space can be used for high-fidelity simulation or emulation, as well as for the development and testing of cyber security-related technologies. The deployed environment also provides the opportunity for university students and Hungarian Defense Forces personnel to practice in simulated conditions how to collaborate with different disciplines and respond effectively to challenges from cyberspace.
The virtual training environment enables the reproduction of various computer networks, or digital infrastructure, including local, cloud, remote/external solutions, which are popular today, where students can observe the effects of malicious codes and practice counter-cyber-attack activities in a secure environment.
