The evening and national gowns were created by one of the jury members, fashion designer Péter Merő. A new feature at the beauty pageant was the Queen’s Tour, where the finalists of the past seven years returned to recall the competitions of previous years.
During the preparation, the contestants had to perform in several sub-competitions, and the jury also assessed the ladies’ skills and talents. Orsolya Szabó won the Miss Fashion sub-competition, Patrícia Koncz won Miss Sport, Patrícia Koncz and Orsolya Szabó tied for Miss Natural Beauty, and Zafír Bella Novák was the best in Miss Talent.
The best-known and oldest beauty pageant, Miss World, was first held in 1951, with the same goal of putting beauty at the service of charity for the past 72 years. The reigning Miss World performs international charitable duties and the causes she champions are given special attention. The slogan of the pageant is “Beauty with purpose,” and therefore one of the most important missions of Miss World Hungary continues to be to raise awareness of the importance of social responsibility.
