The Lithuanian Movement for Families sees family-friendly Hungary as a model to follow, the Center for Fundamental Rights (Alapjogokért Központ) writes in a statement.
Upon the invitation from the Lithuanian organization, International Coordinator Anna Lakó represented the Center for Fundamental Rights at the “Standing for the Natural Rights – Let’s Save Europe Together” conference in Vilnius.
In her speech, Anna Lakó gave a comprehensive presentation on the successes of the past 10 years in the field of “family policy, child protection, and Hungary’s fight against LGBTQIA+ / woke propaganda,” which was followed with great interest by the international participants of the conference. The president of the host organization, Raimondas Grinevičius, thanked Hungary for “setting a good example and giving hope to the countries of Europe in the fight against demographic challenges.”
The Center for Fundamental Rights noted that in 2021, when Hungary was the target of a “coordinated international attack” on the Child Protection Act, the Lithuanian movement addressed an open letter of support to the Hungarian Parliament, organized a signature collection, and sent the signatures of nearly 8,000 Lithuanian citizens to Hungary, showing that Hungary is not alone in protecting children.
The event was also attended by the Center’s partners from the Visegrad countries, the Polish Ordo Iuris, the Czech Association for Families, and the Slovak Ladislav Hanus Institute. Gudrun Kugler, Member of Parliament for the Austrian People’s Party, sent a video message, while Rev. Paul Sullins PhD, Associate Professor at the Catholic University of America, and Diane Horsley of the Scottish Family Party addressed the event in person.
