The Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra (PFZ) will present several new conductors and world-famous soloists at its concerts in the 2023/2024 season, the orchestra, based in Pécs, southwestern Hungary, informed MTI on Wednesday.
In some concerts of the season, the orchestra will be conducted by Charles Olivieri-Munroe, Levente Török, Boon Hua Lien, Domonkos Héja, Gergely Kesselyák Kesselyák, Leo McFall, Gabriel Bebeselea, Gérard Korsten, Nicolo Umberto Foron, Gábor Káli, András Keller, alongside the principal conductor Tibor Bogányi and Gilbert Varga.
Of the three season ticket series in Pécs, the Kodály season ticket, which brings together the Thursday evening performances in Pécs, will offer audiences the chance to hear more than 25 different works, including works by Beethoven, Ravel, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Paganini, Verdi, Richard Strauss, Bruckner, and Shostakovich, as well as works by György Orbán and Donghoon Shin.
The Pannon season ticket, which includes five performances at Müpa Budapest, will offer the Budapest audience the opportunity to meet the orchestra every two months from September. The musicians will perform works by Bartók, Bruch, Rachmaninoff, Dohnányi, Saint-Saëns, Verdi, Paganini, Strauss, Glazunov and Beethoven, among others, with Jennifer Pike and Barnabás Kelemen on violin, Szilárd Ferenc Kovács on organ and Valentine Michaud on saxophone.
