Minister Tibor Navracsics called the negotiations between Hungary and the European Commission on EU funds, constructive.
There were still points of disagreement between the Hungarian government and the European Commission, and there will be differences of opinion in the future, but we could and can always discuss them, Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Regional Development, told Magyar Nemzet.
I was optimistic and determined all the time, I wanted to avoid Hungary losing funds at all costs,”
the Minister said of the negotiations the government held with the European Commission to release Hungary’s EU funds.
We were and are willing to negotiate on everything; the deal will not depend on us,”
he noted.
Navracsics stressed that the Hungarian government has very good relations with the European Commission at the policy level.
A few days ago, Navracsics said in a video message that an agreement had been reached with the European Commission and the partnership agreement had been signed. This means that all obstacles to the arrival of EU funds have been removed.
The final stage of the implementation timetable will take place at the end of March, when the Hungarian parliament will have to adopt a package of laws, and the Commission has said that if the end of March deadline can be met, the suspension of funds could be lifted in April or May.
