Last Wednesday, 51-time Hungarian national player and RB Leipzig captain Péter Gulácsi suffered a tear of the anterior right cruciate ligament in the 13th minute of the Champions League match against Keltic Glasgow (3:1) after injuring himself during a pass.
The goalkeeper underwent successful surgery on his anterior right knee by Prof. Dr. Christian Fink at the Hochrum Private Clinic in Innsbruck on Sunday.
“Now I am fully focused on my recovery and will do everything to be back with the team as soon as possible,” the 32-year-old goalkeeper wrote on his social media page.
“This is obviously a difficult moment in my career, but I believe that there is also an opportunity. I will work hard every day to come back even better and stronger,” continued Gulácsi, who thanked the operating professor, the Innsbruck clinic, his club, and his family and friends.
