31 Hungarian and more than 10 regional designers are showcased at the 360 Design Budapest exhibition, which is on display since Monday at the Budapest Bálna exhibition center as part of the Art&Antik fair.
The 360 Design Budapest exhibition is organized in close cooperation with the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (MDDÜ) and Art Market Budapest. During the exhibition guided tours, round-table discussions and professional lectures will be organized. The professional day, which will explore the possible intersection of fine art and design, will be organized in cooperation with Art Market Budapest. Speakers will include the Italian furniture design duo Baxter, Draga Obradovic and Aurel K. Basedow, and the world-renowned Italian architect-designer Piero Lissoni.
The 360 Design Budapest series joined the Budapest Design Week events in October 2020. Over the past two years, the exhibition has received major national and international awards, including a Red Dot Award.
The aim of the exhibition is to raise the profile of Hungarian and regional designers, to promote sales, to encourage Hungarian design brands to enter the international market and to introduce new innovative and sustainable trends to those interested in design.
Art Market Budapest has been looking for the connection between fine art and design for many years,” said Attila Ledényi, Director of Art Market Budapest. As he said, with the 360 Design Budapest exhibition they can address the public interested in design, but the world of design also benefits from the fact that art collectors and collectors of fine art are also included in the discourse on design. This year, a complex program has been put together that will be internationally recognized, will have tourism potential and will also contribute to the country’s image.
The works on display at 360 Design Budapest are a strong representation of the pursuit of sustainable design. This year, the concept focuses on the interweaving and interconnection of past and future, digital and physical space.
