Polish Minister Anna Moskwa calls binding gas cuts unacceptable.Continue reading
The energy crisis in Europe is not going to ease, so there is no need for proposals that would further exacerbate the already difficult situation, a government official said in a Facebook video on Tuesday.
According to Csaba Dömötör, parliamentary state secretary of the prime minister’s cabinet office, “we should have avoided paying the price of war,” yet the European Commission has proposed to limit gas consumption in EU Member States.
Meanwhile, Germany’s biggest gas importer is in need of a record bailout, and debates are already underway on whether there is any way to help families in trouble, the State Secretary said.
Dömötör added that Russia’s Gazprom had confirmed gas cuts for Europe, with only 20 percent of the total capacity of the Nord Stream pipeline allowed to reach Germany.
He said that such a situation should not have been allowed to develop on the continent. At this point, the emergency situation does not concern the country that started the war, but the whole of Europe, according to Dömötör.
