The women’s water polo team, who finished second in the group stage of the World Aquatics Championships, beat Argentina 23-6 on Sunday.
The team had previously been beaten by Italy, which is why they had to play again on Sunday to qualify.
Argentina lost 29-6 to the Netherlands and 23-3 to the United States, but beat South Africa to reach the knockout stage. Hungary, however, settled the game quickly, winning the first quarter 4-0 and the second 7-2.
Their next match is against Australia on Tuesday, which will determine who qualifies for the last four.
