The 9:55 p.m. Wizz Air flight to Budapest from Paris’ Orly Airport did not take off Sunday night, leaving 200 passengers in the French capital, Index reported Monday.
This article was originally published on our sister-site, Ungarn Heute.
According to one passenger, even though he arrived at the airport hours before his flight was scheduled to depart, he was initially told that his flight was delayed by two hours, and at 10:46 p.m. he received a text message saying that it had been canceled.
The airline would have to offer another return flight for the canceled flight, but for some reason, that option did not show up on the app.
According to passengers, they were not informed of anything by Wizz Air except for an automated text message.
One passenger reported that they had waited at the airport for hours until they were taken to a hotel for the night at 5 a.m.
The airline responded to the case and said that flight W6 2368 had to be postponed due to technical problems, and informed passengers about the postponement and related information via SMS and email.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused and will of course reimburse the affected passengers for accommodation and other expenses up to a reasonable amount by submitting a claim via the Wizz Air pages or by contacting Wizz Air Customer Service and providing a copy of the invoices. Wizz Air will continue to put the safety of its passengers and crew first.”
