Units of the Hungarian Defence Forces arrived to the eastern part of the country throughout the course of the day on Thursday, the head of the army announced on Thursday afternoon in Hajdúhadház, located in eastern Hungary. Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, who inspected the units at the local military base, told journalists that the troops are being regrouped for two reasons.
First, they will support police forces in dealing with a possible wave of refugees and in providing humanitarian aid. Second, they will guarantee the safety of Hungarians in the worst-case scenario, when armed groups drift into Hungary.
