Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Saturday urged de-escalation and a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine-Russia standoff.
After a meeting of right-wing party leaders in Madrid, Orbán told journalists that he had appealed to everyone attending the meeting to take a stand for a peaceful resolution and de-escalation.
Orbán said Europe’s new security architecture was an important issue and “Europeans must be involved in some way”.
Meanwhile, the prime minister insisted that European climate policy was a failure, adding that raising energy prices to protect the climate was “unreasonable”. Hungary, he said, was intent on preventing Brussels from imposing new taxes on car and homeowners.
