Teacher’s unions say that several vaccinated students are being offered teaching positions that have become available because of the unvaccinated teachers. According to the Ministry of Human Resources, there are 780 educators who have refused the Corona vaccine.

The ministry said in a statement on Monday that classes had started properly after the Christmas break in every school facility. However, according to the unions, it can only be solved by working beyond the efforts of other teachers. In addition, graduates of the respective courses at universities and colleges are sought out to work as teachers.
The University of Pécs has confirmed to have received such a request. The Ministry says, however, that the students may only be employed as trainees, and only 1 percent of teachers are needed to be replaced. According to information from the union, there are as many teachers who can teach temporarily thanks to individual exemptions from compulsory vaccination, but who will also have to be replaced during the year.
According to the regulation, teachers had to get vaccinated by December 15, 2021. Those who refused (and were not provided individual exemption by the ministry) have been put on unpaid leave and terminated after one year.
