Gender, place of residency, and level of education all influence the willingness to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, according to a survey conducted by various Hungarian universities.
According to the poll’s findings, women have proven to be more inclined to receive the covid jab than men (70.7% to 66%).
In addition, a large difference was detected between people with primary and tertiary education. While 86% of those with a degree declared their willingness to be vaccinated, only 55.5% of those who only completed primary school claimed so.
In terms of place of residency, those living in cities with county rights scored the highest, some 77.7% claimed they would want to receive the jab. In this comparison, Budapest came in second with three-quarters of the respondents having said so, while two-thirds of the respondents in smaller cities confirmed their eagerness to receive the jab.
Small town residents have proven to be the least enthusiastic, as only 62.5% of them claimed a willingness to be vaccinated.
Moreover, the survey also found a significant increase in willingness during the pandemic’s second wave, according to the professor of Óbuda University’s economic faculty. Last year in November, only 17.2% of the respondents claimed their willingness, which eventually grew to 68.4% by May.
