According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), most counties in Hungary are “at high risk” from an epidemiological point of view, reports HVG. On the maps, the worst levels are marked in dark red, which means that more than 500 cases have been reported in these regions in the last two weeks.

In Hungary, a single region is marked with a lighter shade of red, that is the North Transdanubian region, where at least 75 new cases have been detected daily in the last two weeks, but less than 200, and where the test positivity rate is above 4%.
The ECDC has also published a map showing that there is a relatively small number of tests in Hungary, and of these, too large a number is positive, and the number of infected people per 100,000 is steadily increasing.
Meanwhile, the Hospital Association has confirmed that a total of 20 percent of beds in hospitals providing Covid care must be freed up, per county, and that if more space is available, facilities can continue to perform postponable surgeries. Of that 20 percent, 10 percent falls to Cffovid intensive care beds.
