On Monday afternoon in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Michael Waltz. Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó and Gellért Jászai, Chairman of Board of the 4iG Group, also attended the meeting as members of the Hungarian delegation, reports Világgazdaság.
One of the key points of the meeting was the presentation of the 4iG Group’s HUSAT1 satellite program, the first privately initiated and funded program in Central and Eastern Europe to develop satellite communications and Earth observation capabilities.
It will be based on a greenfield investment by the 4iG Group and Remred in the construction of a space technology production center in Martonvásár (central Hungary),
where low Earth orbit satellites with a maximum mass of 400 kg will be manufactured from 2026.
The parties also touched on the 4iG Group’s satellite program, including the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and possible cooperation in the Hungarian-American commercial and technological fields.
SpaceX launch services and other commercial and technological partnership opportunities were also discussed. Elon Musk is known as the founding chairman of Tesla and also holds a leading position as founding CEO of SpaceX, the space company.
Gellért Jászai, Chairman of Board of the 4iG Group, noted that the meeting in a friendly atmosphere was an important first step in expanding cooperation between the parties, which could be beneficial for the introduction of new technologies and the development of economic relations overseas.
