The 42nd Hungarian Press Photo Contest, organized by the Photojournalists’ Section of the Hungarian Press Association (MÚOSZ), received 2,470 entries from 250 photographers, totaling 6,801 photos. The contest, held in 2023, featured a variety of categories.
Following online pre-selection, jury members will convene at the Robert Capa Contemporary Art Museum and Photography Center in Budapest, Hungary, from February 2 – 4, 2024, for a public session.
An exhibition showcasing the submitted images will open at the Capa Center, with the ceremony scheduled for April 11, 2024. Alongside category prizes, special awards including the MÚOSZ Grand Prize, Culture Award, and the André Kertész Grand Prize of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation will be presented. The exhibition will also feature the launch of a photo album titled ‘Photos of the Year 2023.’
Following its debut in Budapest, the 42nd Hungarian Press Photography Exhibition will tour various cities before returning to the capital at the end of the year.
