The Mary’s Way Public Benefit Association has announced a forty-day walking pilgrimage to the Pentecost celebration in Șumuleu Ciuc (Csíksomlyó in Romania).
They wrote that the pilgrimage, named after Hungarian Roman Catholic prelate Áron Márton, will begin on April 29, at 7 a.m. from the St. Anna Chapel at Normafa in Budapest, and will arrive in Șumuleu Ciuc on June 6, so that participants can attend the Pentecost pilgrimage on June 7.
During the pilgrimage, participants will walk along the segments of Mary’s Way (Mária Út) in a community of prayer, song, and testimony, experiencing both spiritual deepening and communal unity.
Through the more than 600 kilometer-long walk, pilgrims are welcomed with kindness and attention in every town and village along the way each year, whether through a few encouraging words, refreshments, or shared prayer. This, they added, “reinforces the pilgrims in the belief that
the Mary’s Way truly connects: person to person, village to city, heart to heart.”
The statement also quoted Tamás Szabó, the volunteer president of the Mary’s Way Public Benefit Association, who said: “The Mary’s Way is not just a physical route, but also a spiritual path that connects pilgrims with their faith, with themselves, and with each other. The 40-day pilgrimage offers a unique opportunity for participants to develop a deeper connection with God and to experience the strength of community.”
