The concert will feature works by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Ludwig van Beethoven. Performers will include Hyojin Kim on violin and Ta Quang Vu on piano. The conductors will be students from the Conducting Institute at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

The Szolnok Symphony Orchestra has been a partner of the Verein für Internationale Musik- und Kulturförderung (IMK) production agency for several years. Thanks to its invitations, the Szolnok Symphony Orchestra has already performed in several famous Austrian concert halls, including the Grosser Saal (Great Hall) of the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna, and the Haydnsaal (Haydn Hall) of the Esterházy Palace in Eisenstadt.

Fact

The Szolnok Music Society presented its first concert in 1927, at a nationwide series of events organized on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Beethoven’s death. In the fall of 1947, the Szolnok Philharmonic Orchestra was founded. After its successful debut concert, it had a few more appearances, but soon ended its work. In 1965, at the request of the then country and city administration, conductor József Bali was finally commissioned and supported to reorganize the orchestra. This is the date of the official foundation of the Szolnok Symphony Orchestra.

Their commitment is defined as follows: “We feel the representation of Hungarian music is not only our duty, but also an honor, because the specificity that can be found in these works cannot be compared to the music of any other nation. We are dedicated and proud to represent traditional Hungarian music, since the great composers of Europe have more than once immersed themselves in its world of melodies when creating their works.”
