Hungarian low-fare airline WizzAir has launched a new direct flight between Budapest and Sofia, the company told news agency MTI on Tuesday. The flight to Bulgaria’s capital will be operated three times a week, WizzAir said.
WizzAir, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, currently operates direct flights from Budapest to 48 destinations in 23 countries. The airline carried 2.5 million passengers in January-September this year, 25% more than during the same period in 2015. It expects its passenger numbers to exceed 3.5 million by the end of 2016.
WizzAir also announced in October that it opened a new Wizz Air Cockpit Simulator at its Training Center in Budapest. The simulator, an exact replica of the Airbus A320 flight deck, is similar to a full flight simulator without the motion and includes a high quality visual system combined with rumble and audio to provide a realistic flight environment. The simulator helps WizzAir flight and cabin crews maintain rigorous training standards, the company said.
