Winter Budapest From The Sky – Last Chance To Hitch A Ride On Sziget Eye

Ferenc Sullivan 2015.01.02.

Europe’s largest mobile ferris wheel, which is currently located on Erzsébet tér in central Budapest, will close to visitors on Sunday, 11 December, after which it will be disassembled and reconstructed at the Sziget Festival in August – so don’t miss this last chance to take a peak of winter Budapest from aloft!

Towering 65 metres above the city skyline, the Sziget Eye offers an unique view over central Budapest – its 37 six-person cabins and one four-person cabin are air-conditioned. A ride lasts ten to twelve minutes, during which the ferris wheel turns around two to three times. Prices are HUF 2400 for an adult ticket, HUF 1500 for children below 140 centimetres tall, HUF 6 600 for a family ticket for two adults and two children, HUF 1800 for a discount (Hop On Hop Off) ticket and HUF 30 000 for the VIP cabin. Tickets can be purchased at the ferris wheel; booking in advance is unnecessary, both forints and euros are accepted and you can also pay by credit card.

Between 2 and 11 January, Sziget Eye will be operating from 10 am to 22 pm from Monday to Thursday, from 10 am to 24 pm on Friday and Saturday and from 10 am to 22 pm on Sunday.
