Hungarian-American singer Viktor Király has impressed the jury in the live show of the US talent sequel “The Voice”, earning a good chance for further progress. According to the show’s new rules, 24 singers in 4 teams are competing now for the final victory, including the 31-year-old New York-born Hungarian singer. Although Király’s first team leader Adam Levine preferred fellow team member Jordan Smith to progress two weeks ago, the Hungarian also made the live show after jury member Gwen Stefani stole him.
Despite the outstanding performances he delivered so far in the show, Viktor Király was not taking any chances and encouraged his Hungarian fans on Facebook to vote for him through VPN connections. Evading the geographic restrictions – according to “The Voice” rules, only USA-based fans are allowed to vote – might cost too much for the Hungarian singer, who has removed the controversial post from his timeline by now. However, American media apparently are not following Viktor Király’s Hungarian Facebook page. Király and his fans now have to wait until Wednesday to find out if the Hungarian singer makes the next round.
In 2008, the Hungarian pop singer, who was born in the United States but has been living in Hungary since 1999, won the fourth series of the Hungarian talent show Megasztár, Later, he participated two times in the Hungarian national selection, A Dal, to the Eurovision Song Contest; in 2012 with his twin brother and sister – fellow singer Linda Király – as The Kiralys, performing the song “Untried”; and in 2014 as a solo artist, with “Running Out Of Time”.
