In a 2 billion forint (EUR 65m) investment creating 180 jobs, Swiss state-owned company RUAG is opening a plant in Eger manufacturing fuselage parts for Airbus 320 and Bombardier planes, the minister of foreign affairs and trade said on Wednesday.
At a joint press briefing with RUAG executives, Péter Szijjártó noted that RUAG is among the 100 most important suppliers of components for civil and military aviation. By choosing northern Hungarian town Eger as a location for the plant led by a research and development unit, the company has acknowledged the skills and quality of the Hungarian workforce and the conducive investment environment offered by the Hungarian government, he said. The investment is receiving government support of 382 million forints, he noted.
