TripAdvisor: Budapest Among Europe’s Five Cheapest Destinations This Summer

By Ferenc Sullivan // 2015.04.14.

A study by the US travel website TripAdvisor has ranked 25 popular European cities based on airfare and hotel costs. Most cities showed a stunning price drop from last year. A one-week trip to Istanbul is 25 percent cheaper than it was last summer and Stockholm – a notoriously pricey city –is a whopping 23 percent cheaper. The report found that prices for an average trip from the US – including a rould airfare and hotel costs for a week – are down in almost every major European destination this summer.

The Hungarian capital, ranked fourth on TripAdvisor’s list, is described by Huffington Post as a “perfect summer destination”, famous for outdoor hot spring spas, river cruises, museums and one of the largest synagogues in the world.

The other four cities on the list are Prague, Krakow, Bucharest and Istanbul.
