Public employee trade unions on Wednesday called for the establishment of a national labour roundtable as part of the renewal of dialogue on social issues.
At a press conference in Kossuth Square in front of Parliament, Erzsébet Boros of the public employees’ trade union (MKKSZ) said that the bills expected to be voted into law on Wednesday and Thursday, the labour code amendment on overtime regulations and the bill on police employees among others would hurt employees.
Boros called for the government, ruling and opposition parties, trade unions and NGOs to form the roundtable alongside representatives of municipalities and employers.
