Toroczkai Leads Mi Hazánk EP List

MTI-Hungary Today 2019.02.28.

László Toroczkai, the head of the radical nationalist Mi Hazánk (Our Homeland) party, is leading the party’s list for the upcoming European parliamentary election, the party said on Wednesday.

Campaign chief Előd Novák said that the 63-strong list also contains candidates of the Hungarian Justice and Life Party (MIÉP) and the Independent Smallholders, Agrarian Workers and Civic Party (FKGP) which had signed a cooperation agreement with Mi Hazánk. The “national alliance” offers a value-based alternative to the current government and the “unprincipled left-liberal bloc”, Novák said.

Second on the list is MP Dóra Dúró, who was expelled from the Jobbik party for joining a platform that later became the Mi Hazánk party.

Municipal councillor János Árgyelán is third on the list, and Gyula Popély, a politician born in an ethnic Hungarian family in Slovakia, is fourth.
