Our “Top of Hungary 2015″ series aims to represent fifteen episodes of the the year, which – according to our assessment – played an important role in the public, cultural or sport life of Hungary during the last twelve months. Regardless of the positive or negative aspects, we have evaluated the events separately, therefore our list reflects nothing more but the personal opinion of the editorial team.
The twelfth most important event in Hungary in 2015: VOLT festival in Sopron

One of the most exciting multicultural events in Central Europe, VOLT festival, expected its guests this year between 1-4 July in the charming historic town of Sopron in West Hungary. Five days long, visitors were welcomed with 15 stages and approximately 200 programs: concerts, DJs, theater shows and performances. The festivals’s sensational atmosphere is clearly showed in the official 2015 after-movie released by the organizers in late November.
This year’s VOLT programme featured an amazing line-up of world stars indeed, including David Guetta, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, Fatboy Slim, Bastille, Wilkinson, Ignite, Nouvelle Vague, Motörhead, Rise Against, John Newman, Parov Stelar Band, Parkway Drive, Lilly Wood and many more. Although at the beginning of VOLT Festival in 1993 only 5 bands and 800 guests attended the event, more than 100.000 visitors arrived in 2015.
