In February, Hungary’s World and European Champion swimmer Katinka Hosszú has again been awarded the LEN Award for the year’s best European female swimmer, having already been awarded the recognition for 2013. With her six European Championship medals and further eight medals at the short-course World Championship last year, Ms. Hosszú came first in the vote with an enormous lead.

In August, the Hungarian swimming legend won her fourth World Champion title by breaking her first long course world record en route to becoming the repeat 200m IM world champion with a time of 2:06.12 at the 2015 World Aquatics Championships, held in Kazan, Russia.

In December, her tour of success continued as she re-established her world record on 400 metre medley on the first day of the 2015 European Short Course Swimming Championships held in Netanya, Israel.
