The New Double-Decker Stadler Trains Have Arrived in Hungary
By the end of 2019, 11 high-capacity trains will travel between the Vác and Cegléd railway lines.
According to the MÁV-Start announcement (The Hungarian Railroad Company), the first Stadler wagons have arrived and are being assembled at the Dunakeszi Vehicle Repair Shop.
The new trains will run between the Budapest-Vác-Szob and Budapest-Cegléd-Szolnok railway lines. The acquisition of the large-capacity 600-seat multiple-unit trains was finalized by MÁV-START Zrt. and Stadler Bussnang AG in April of last year.
The contract provides 40 news trains from the Integrated Transport Operational Program (IKOP) and the total value of the deal is 60,55 billion HUF (194 million EUR).
