Strengthening Healthcare Ties Between Hungary and China

By Robert Velkey // 2017.06.21.

Hungary must strengthen its cooperation with China in the area of health care, Economy Minister Mihály Varga said on Tuesday, adding that the government considered China as a key partner.

Addressing a healthcare conference of central and eastern European countries and China, Varga said “health is a pillar of development” and health care contributed to economic development. Li Bin, China’s health minister, said that China sees central and eastern Europe as the engine behind the continent’s development. She said she saw opportunities for health cooperation in such areas as regulation and standards, research and development, as well as strategic planning.
