Stats Office: Hungary's GDP Expanded By 2.3% In Third Quarter Of 2015

Compared to the identical period of the previous year, Hungary’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expanded by 2.3 per cent in the third quarter of 2015. However, the economy only expanded by a minor 0.5 per cent compared to the prevous, second quarter of the running year, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported.

The improvement can be attributed fundamentally to the expansion of industrial output – predominantly vehicle manufacturing -, trade activity, lodging services and the hospitality industry.

Figures corrected with the diary effect and filtered from extraordinary factors reval that the country’s economic performance expanded by 2.2 per cent in the third quarter of the running year compared to the identical period of 2014, following a 2.4 per cent growth for the second quarter and 3.1 per cent for the first quarter.

Similarly to the first two quarters of the year, the volume of Hungary’s Gross Domestic Product increased by 0.5 per cent compared to the previous quarter, according to figures corrected with the seasonal and diary effects, KSH disclosed.
