The opposition Momentum Movement and Párbeszéd party have failed to meet their legal obligations in connection with an official examination of their campaign spending, the State Audit Office (ÁSZ) said on Friday, adding that it has initiated the suspension of their state funding.
The state auditor initiated a procedure to suspend their financial support pending the outcome of an investigation early in October. The auditor said in a statement that the two parties had failed to cooperate in that probe.
Neither political organisation sent documents requested by the auditor. It also dismissed Momentum’s claim that its move to a new headquarters had prevented it from complying with the request.
