Two police officers were attacked and stabbed in Veresegyház, northern Hungary, when they went to check on a man under house arrest, ATV reports.
Later, the Central Chief Prosecution Office confirmed that they were investigating the assault case on a public authority representative.
According to the information obtained by news site Index, a man under house arrest, László V., attacked the officers while they were transporting him from the hospital to his home in Erdőkertes.
Police to Use Facial Recognition From Now On
The perpetrator stabbed the police officers on their necks, hands, and faces. The officers were taken to hospital by a rescue helicopter, their conditions are stable.
László Pásztor, the mayor of Erdőkertes, told the news portal that he had known the man for about ten years, and had even worked in the town as a civil guard for several years.

He performed his work and duties conscientiously, even receiving an award from the local government.
Problems started when the relationship with his partner deteriorated, and according to the mayor, he was placed under supervision for 2-3 years for beating his partner, causing multiple fractures on her face.
