Song Released for Pope Francis’ Visit

Hungary Today 2023.04.12.

Pope Francis will visit Hungary from April 28-30, and preparations are well underway. As part of these preparations, the official song of the Pope’s visit, “Camino, Christ is our future,” has recently been released.

The song was commissioned by the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference, with lyrics by Dávid Ágoston Tóth and music by Márton Vizy, who is also known as a composer of music for both sacred and secular performances.

The composition is performed by several Hungarian celebrities, including musical singer and actor Attila Dolhai, young singer Bogi Nagy, and two-time EMeRTon award-winning Hungarian singer Szandi, who is the youngest platinum-selling singer in Hungary to date. Also singing in the video are composer Márton Vizy, Renáta Szőcs, and Gergő Dánielfy.

The song “Camino” is part of the musical about the life of St. Ignatius of Loyola, which has now been reworked into a symphonic song with the Forráspont Band and the 4 Akkord Show Kórus.

The central part of the song, repeated several times, calls for peace in the world.

The premiere of the song will take place on April 29, 2023 at the Papp László Sports Arena, before the arrival of Pope Francis.
