As of today, a total of six double-decker trains will be available at the Hungarian State Railways, MÁV, routed to help the busiest suburban lines: four will run on the Vác line, and two on the Cegléd line. According to the company’s announcement, the 600-seat double-decker trains all obtained the necessary permit for the passenger traffic test operation after preliminary examinations and tests.
In addition to the current six trains, by the end of 2022, a total of forty double-decker trains will be available in the country, making it possible for suburban traffic in the capital to be served almost entirely by modern motor trains, writes Hungarian news agency MTI.

The first double-decker Stadler KISS train was launched on the Budapest-Cegléd-Szolnok railway line in Hungary on March 15, 2020, but a day later Stadler sent its foreign workers home due to the Hungarian border closure ordered because of the spread of the coronavirus epidemic. Thus, double deckers did not travel between March 17th and August 23rd.
