Shots were fired in Budapest at around 7:30 on Wednesday evening at the corner of Teréz körút and Aradi street. Two men were detained by police.

The police received several reports of an argument that escalated and ended with a shot from a gas pistol. According to eyewitnesses, two men began arguing at around 7:20 p.m. and ended up fighting. Allegedly, a man in white was kicked to the ground and shot from a distance of two meters. An eyewitness told Index that a group of men had begun arguing with a member of the public space authority. The police detained two men on the spot, and a procedure has been launched against them for armed vandalism.

Fact

Last weekend, the counter-terrorism unit (TEK) captured a man who shot at another man's car on the M5 highway on Sunday night. The man got into a traffic conflict with a Romanian citizen and fired a shot from a gun – or a gun replica - at the vehicle. The shot did not cause personal injury.
