Shaolin Sándor Liu, winner of Hungary’s first-ever Winter Olympic gold medal, tested positive for coronavirus and he was surprised by his results, he told sports daily Nemzeti Sport.
In the interview, the Hungarian short track speed skating Olympic champion said that he was surprised that he tested positive, as he had only left the house to go for training and had no symptoms.
He must strictly adhere to quarantine and relax at home, which means no sports at all. Liu is taking vitamin C, drinking a lot of water, and waiting patiently for the situation to end. Also, Liu feels disappointed to miss training sessions, as he felt he was at the top of his form.
He closed his interview by asking the younger generations to stay alert and careful: you can spread the infection without having symptoms, he said, adding that adhering to the appropriate guidelines is key.
