Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to speak at producer Andy Vajna’s funeral. The service will take place Thursday at the Fiumei Road Cemetery in Budapest, according to a quote from a friend of the family to Hungarian daily tabloid Blikk. The Terminator star should arrive in Budapest soon.
Regarding Vajna and Schwarzenegger’s relationship, a close family friend explained that:
They were not only colleagues but very good friends for almost thirty years. So, it’s understandable that the family asked him to pay tribute at the funeral.
On several occasions, Andy Vajna shared that he and Schwarzenegger had become close during the shooting of Total Recall in 1990. The actor visited Vajna in Hungary several times and even commemorated the producer on Twitter following news of his death.
Andy Vajna was a dear friend and a revolutionary force in Hollywood. He proved that you don’t need studios to make huge movies like Terminator 2 or Total Recall. He had a huge heart, and he was one of the most generous guys around. I’ll miss him. My thoughts are with his family.

The government announced that it plans to honor the film commissioner by covering all funeral expenses. Vajna will be buried in plot no. 41 next to Imre Kerényi, Károly Makk and Miklós Jancsó at the Fiumei Road Cemetery.
