“Robin Hood: Origins” Comes To Budapest With a Bunch Of Stars In 2017

2016.09.21.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the next Robin Hood movie, named Robin Hood: Origins will be “made in Budapest”. There are no less than four separate Robin Hood-based projects in Hollywood right now, each with a different take on the titular hero. The strangest of the bunch is probably Robin Hood: Origins — while many of the character’s on-screen appearances have been light-hearted affairs, Origins is going for a dark, gritty, “realistic” take on Robin Hood. As hollywoodreporter.com writes about the project: “A January start in Budapest is being planned.”

Budapest will welcome the following stars during the filming the story of the British archer-thief who stole from the rich and gave to the poor.

Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan is in final talks to board Lionsgate’s Robin Hood: Origins, where he’ll portray the character of Will Scarlett. Taron Egerton is on board as Robin Hood. Jamie Foxx will play Little John and Eve Hewson will portray Maid Marian in the retelling that is being directed by Otto Bathurst.

This autumn Budapest became a hot spot by Hollywood-stars. Harrison Ford, Jared Leto and the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence from the USA prepares to work in Budapest too.
