A daily record-low temperature was reported for the second consecutive day on Thursday morning, the national weather service said.
The previous record for April 2 was minus 8.6 degrees Celsius, registered in Zabar, in northern Hungary, in 2005.
This year, even lower temperatures were reported from eight measuring stations. The new daily record was minus 11.3 degrees Celsius measured in Nyírlugos, in eastern Hungary.
