Russia and Hungary have a significant amount of economic relations – Hungary satisfies more than half of its oil and gas needs through the supply of Russian energy resources, Putin’s spokesman stated.

“Meanwhile, Hungary does not talk about dependence or Russia using its energy resources as a political weapon. Hungarians are buying pragmatically and have already filled all their underground gas storages,” Peskov said.

The Russian President and the Hungarian Prime Minister met in Budapest last week when Hungarian and Russian officials signed several important economic, social security, and sports-related agreements.
