A part of the Tabán area in Budapest’s 1st district will be sealed off on Friday morning for bomb-disposal experts to neutralise a recently unearthed second world war bomb, the BKK public transport centre told MTI.
Starting at 8am, Döbrentei Square, sections of Attila Road and Krisztina Boulevard will be closed to all traffic, BKK said, adding that buses and trams will be rerouted. The operation to defuse the bomb is expected to start at 10am.
The 50kg bomb was found during earth works in the Tabán Park.
