OTP Named Bank of the Year in Romania

Hungarian OTP‘s Romanian subsidiary has been named Bank of the Year, as well as the best mortgage lender in Romania.

The ceremony took place at a gala organized for the fourth time by the Romanian Association of Credit Brokers (ARBC), according to wire service MTI.

The statement describes OTP Bank Romania’s long history of cooperating with credit intermediaries – a partnership which has led to an increase in the number of loans lent to individuals. In fact, last year’s expansion increase hit 200 percent.

OTP Bank Romania has been present in Romania’s banking market for 15 years now. The company’s earnings last year after taxes amounted to Huf 3.85 billion (Ron 58.1 million – Eur 12.2 million), 25% higher than in 2017.

Hungarian Bank OTP Continues its Expansion into the Balkans

Last year, the number of new mortgages increased by 56 percent, and loans for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) increased by 48 percent.
