Orbán to Michel: More Funds to Rich States Would Go against EU Values

MTI-Hungary Today 2020.06.30.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had a videoconference on Tuesday with European Council President Charles Michel in preparation for a European Union summit scheduled for July 17-18.

The Hungarian government is interested in ensuring a “fair” budget for the community, but “the current proposal is far from that”, Orbán’s press office quoted him as saying at the talks.

Rich countries must not be given more funds because that would be in contravention with European values, Orbán said.
