Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sent his condolences to the families of the victims of Tuesday’s shooting in Strasbourg, and wished the casualties a speedy recovery, his press chief told MTI on Thursday.
In a letter to French President Emmanuel Macron, Orbán said he was “convinced” that the perpetrators who opened fire near a Christmas market in Strasbourg targeted not only France and the French people but European and Christian culture.
Hungary stands by France “in these dark hours”, Orbán said. It can also count on Hungary’s support in protecting Europe’s borders and security, he added.
