One Million Doses of Favipiravir Delivered to Hungary

Hungary has received another one million doses of favipiravir, an agent used to treat coronavirus patients, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Facebook on Saturday.

The medicine was delivered from the East again, from Japan this time, Szijjártó said.

The delivery will be enough to treat some ten thousand people hospitalised with Covid-19, he said. He noted that the number of people with severe symptoms and in need of hospital treatment was rising, adding that “the medicine will be welcome indeed”.

Szijjártó has been quarantined since he tested positive on November 4.
