Olympic Evaluation Commission Will Visit Budapest in May

Tom Szigeti 2017.01.09.

From May 10-12, an Evaluation Commission from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will visit Budapest in order to help determine the city’s suitability to host the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

And according to sports news site insidethegames.biz, the Hungarian capital will not be the only city visited by the Evaluation commission; the other two contenders to host the games-Los Angeles and Paris- will be visited as well in April and May.

Following these visits, the three cities will attend the 2024 Candidate City Briefing, which will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland on July 11th and 12th. There, representatives of Budapest, Paris and Los Angeles will formally make their cases before the IOC as to why their city deserves to host the Olympics.

The final decision as to who will be hosting the 2024 games will be voted on at the IOC Session in September, which will be held in Lima, Peru.
