A new sport movement has been launched in Szeged, called “Sportol a nemzet” (sporting nation), announced one of its creators, Pál Hoffmann in Szeged on Wednesday, reported by MTI. The goal of the sport movement is to encourage the nation to do sport on a regular basis, and to try more and more sports.
At a press event for the new sport movement the program’s project manager spoke about their plans and goals, naming the movement’s primary aim the broadening the selection of sporting activities available for families and sport enthusiasts. After a free registration on the website www.sportolanemzet.hu, users can see individual and family programs in the area, allowing them to collect points and compete for valuable prizes.
Locations joining the program will allow participants to enter with a 50% discount tickets, making the movement an attractive sporting opportunity. The program is set to launch on September 7 in the Hódmezővásárhely swimming stadium as three counties (Csongrád, Békés, Bács-Kiskun) are set to join the initial trial phase.
There are about 400.000 professional athletes in Hungary, and about 9 to 15% of the population do regular physical activities and exercises, although the EU average is about the double of this figure.
